COVID 19 RE-OPENING GUIDELINES

We are thrilled to be able to re-open Salon JLS, Tuesday, June 16, 2020, and will be able to serve you once again! We kindly ask for your patience as we navigate through this opening. At this time, all appointments must be scheduled in advance. No walk-ins permitted.

In compliance with the Massachusetts State Board of Cosmetologists Safety Guidelines for re-opening, as well as OSHA’s Guidance on Preparing Workplaces for COVID-19, Salon JLS has strict protocols in place for our health and safety purposes. We will be happy to review our health and safety practices with you when you schedule or arrive for your appointment.

Here are the measures we are taking, and what we ask of you, during this time to keep all of us safe and healthy:

  • We will see guests by appointment only. Only one client at a time, per service provider, will be allowed in the salon. Please come alone with no guests inside the Salon. Spacing between guests in the salon will be at least six feet, except when stylists are servicing a guest.
  • We will be administering temperature checks before you enter the salon with a no-touch thermometer. If you have a temperature of 99 degrees or higher, or you have any symptoms or have been in contact with anyone who you believe has symptoms, you will not be allowed to have salon services until 2 weeks after your temperature is normal and you have no evidence of COVID-19 symptoms.
  • We are required to ask each client upon entering the salon the following questions:
      1. Have you had a cough?
      2. Have you had a fever?
      3. Have you been around anyone exhibiting these symptoms within the past 14 days?
      4. Are you living with anyone who is sick or quarantined?
      5. Have you traveled in the past 14 days?
  • If you are under the weather in any way, such as having a common cold, etc., please re-schedule. If you arrive for your appointment with noticeable symptoms, you will be asked to re-schedule.
  • Please call us upon your arrival and wait in your car or outside until we can confirm that we have completed the sanitation protocol and thatUpon entering there will be a sanitizing station, please sanitize your hands before touching anything.
  • Please plan to wear a protective mask…and gloves. We will have disposable masks for color services if you do not have one.
  • We are allotting time between appointments to disinfect the stations.
  • While providing service, your stylists will be wearing masks at all times, as well as gloves that are changed between guests and whenever possible. Stylists will also wear face shields as an extra precaution.
  • As per our usual protocol, smocks, capes, towels, etc. are single-use only, never shared, and are laundered multiple times per day.
  • We have been working to thoroughly clean and disinfect our salon prior to re-opening. All surfaces, tools, linens, etc., have been disinfected (even if they were all cleaned before the salon was closed).
  • We will be frequently cleaning and disinfecting the restrooms and all areas that are handled by guests.
  • We ask to refrain using cash if possible. We accept all gratuities on Credit Card for the service provider.
  • We ask for you to pre-book your subsequent appointments to guarantee you get your next service at the day and time you need.
  • We have missed you! However, as much as we would like to, we are unable to give you a hug or even shake your hand.

This is a new way of serving you, but as we navigate our way through this with everyone using precaution so we can all remain healthy, we will be shortening the time that we can get back to our normal way of life.
